5 Things To Do In Cornwall In Spring

Spring

As the sun begins to shine and the flowers begin to bloom, there’s no better place to be than on the Cornish Coast.

With invigorating sea breezes blowing away those winter cobwebs, and the vast Cornish countryside awakening after a few months of hibernation, your next visit will be full of the sounds and signs of Spring.

But what is there to do in Cornwall to make the most of the milder weather ahead of the Summer season? Below we’ve outlined our top five things to do in the Spring in Cornwall so you can make the best memories during your stay.

1. Visit Cornish Gardens
1. Visit Cornish Gardens

When visiting Cornwall in the Spring, the many gardens dotted around the countryside shouldn’t be missed!

As the daffodils begin to pop up in hedgerows, flowers across the countryside are finally coming into blossom.

Head to the ever-popular Lost Gardens of Heligan and wander the magical grounds as they begin to bloom for the first time this year. With plenty of land to explore, don’t miss out on Heligan’s wide selection of events while you’re there.

Looking for somewhere a little different? Explore acres of beautiful woodlands and fields of stunning bluebells. Walking through valleys of blue is the best way to spend a sunny Spring day, with stops available for a truly Cornish Cream Tea to refuel.

Our friendly reception team can help you find and book your tickets!

2. Take A Dip

As the temperature rises on land, it also rises in the waters. Cold water swimming is hugely popular amongst locals and visitors alike down here in Cornwall, with community groups doing weekly swims even through the Winter Months.

The benefits of cold water swimming are many, so why not pack your swimsuit and give it a go? Reduce stress and boost your immune system ready for those warmer months enjoying soaking up the sun!

3. Explore Open Waters
3. Explore Open Waters

If cold water swimming isn’t for you maybe you’d prefer to be out on the water rather than in it? Cornwall’s coast is full of beaches and coves to explore from the comfort of a kayak, SUP or boat.

Head down to one of the local beaches and find your next adventure with a Stand Up Paddle Boarding Session or rent a kayak to explore the crystal clear waters surrounding us. You may even spot the odd pod of dolphins, a curious seal or a rarely-sighted whale while out and about exploring, so keep your eyes peeled for those delightful surprises!

4. On Your Bike!
4. On Your Bike!

Explore the beautiful countryside and stunning coastal paths from a different perspective.

Cornwall is surrounded by beautiful cycle trails that wind you through flowering fields and alongside outstanding views for a refreshing day out on a Spring day.

Head over to Devoran and cycle the Coast To Coast path on the Bissoe trail. Take this old railway line past cycle cafes and stops until you arrive at your destination: Portreath! This fishing port village is the perfect place to explore, with local shops and the beach laid out in front of you, and a hidden tidal pool available at low tide.

Whilst the Bissoe trail is an amazing ride, don’t forget to check out other cycle routes in and around Falmouth during your active stay!
