For the adventurous
Activities at Gyllyngvase Beach
It's time to experience all that Falmouth has to offer
There's a reason that Gylly is the sandy jewel in Falmouth's crown. It’s the perfect place to try something new with paddleboarding experiences from Blu Paddle, as well as offering a peaceful haven to relax. Our Health Club also features beach classes in the spring and summer months including boxing, yoga and kettlebell workouts.
For the families, the calm waters of the south-coast and Blue Flag status make the perfect waters to take the children for a swim.
With a Blue Flag status and an RNLI lifeguarded beach (between May – September), take the family for a swim or play in the sand at Gyllyngvase beach.
Pick up a bucket and spade at the beach shop and take advantage of the public toilets, showers and the car park only 100 yards away. Gyllyngvase beach is an advocate for safe swimming which you will see during the surf lifesaving club's children sea safety lessons. Also, watch out for the red and yellow flags which mark out the safe bathing waters.
Head down to Blu Paddle, the stand up paddleboarding centre based on Gyllyngvase Beach, offering lessons, hires and tours.
As a St Michaels guest, groups of 1 & 2 will receive 10% off and groups of 3 or more 15%.
Gyllyngvase beach is home to many crystal clear rock pools, plan on a nice day and wait for low tide.
An activity for all ages, take the family rock pooling and discover hidden creatures. Head towards the south where the beach extends to Swanpool and you will find a rocky reef with plenty of shallow rock pools.
Check out Rock Pool Safaris with The Rock Pool Project. There is no better way to see Cornwall than by learning about the unique diversity of marine life found in our rock pools. Find out more here!
