Our local beaches

We are lucky enough to have the pristine golden sands of Gyllyngvase beach just steps from us and there is plenty to do whatever the time of year - relax in the sun, build a sandcastle, go for a wild swim, paddle along the shore or go rockpooling and see what you can find.

is home to the fantastic Gylly Beach Café right on the beach as well as a little ice cream shop and watersports hire. If you fancy trying something new then head to WeSUP on the beach and have a go at stand up paddle boarding - a great way to get fit as well as exploring the coastline and seeing the wildlife.

Head a few minutes up the coast and you’ll come to the small but perfectly formed Castle beach and just ten minutes’ walk along the coast path in the other direction leads to Swanpool beach – home of the famous quirky ice cream! There is plenty to do here as well with a bouncy castle, kayak hire and little beach café. The lake behind the beach is where lots of families of ducks and swans live and is very popular with our little guests - don't forget to take some bread to feed them! For lazy lunches or dinner with a view at Swanpool there is the lovely Hooked on the Rocks restaurant which specialises in tapas and local seafood.

Clean and bright

We were given a beautiful room in the Beach House, right next to the spa building and overlooking the sea. It was beautifully furnished, and clean and bright, with very good toiletries, and a huge shower. Wonderful evening meal overlooking the gardens, and the pool is a generous size for a serious swimmer!
